For more than twenty years Margaret has shared her love of storytelling, reading, and literature with teachers, students, and parents in national and international schools, universities, and community centers throughout the United States and abroad.

As a touring artist for the John F. Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration, and teaching and performing artist for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, she conducted student, teacher, and parent workshops in the Australia, England, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, and Okinawa. Additionally, she consults for the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, delivering creative writing, storytelling, and oral expression workshops.

Under the sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Music and Art Foundation, and as a guest artist for the UAEU, she presented concerts and workshops for three consecutive years throughout the Emirates, appearing in schools, universities, and community centers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.

With the New York City based music education foundation, Midori and Friends, she co-directed the annual Children’s Music Festival for three years, bringing young and adult musical, visual, and literary talent together for large-scale, intergenerational concerts at Symphony Space, Sony Wonder Technology Lab, El Museo del Barrio, and the Hostos Center for Arts and Culture. She also started the Myth Project, a storytelling training and outreach program designed for MFA Acting Students at the California Institute of the Arts. Underwritten by the Boone Family Foundation, the Myth Project provided acting students with opportunities to perform for youth and families.

At present, she leads out the Big Story Book Club in New York City, an interactive book club for mothers and sons. Margaret also provides one-on-one life writing coaching for a number of international clients.
